Preventer of Mistakes

The Holy Spirit points you in the right direction; even from days of old.
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, ‘This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left’.” Isaiah 30:21

I truly love the fact that the Lord has always had our proverbial backs.  He not only will direct us, as we are in route to do something, as mentioned in the above verse; He will also tell us about things that are going to happen, before they happen - Amos 3:7

However, if we look at John 16:13, we shall discover something that is truly remarkable.

“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”

What this verse is really saying is that the Holy Spirit will guide you into truth about yourself; “truth as a personal excellence that candour of mind which is free from affection, pretence, simulation, falsehood, deceit” https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/Lexicon/Lexicon.cfm?strongs=G225&t=KJV.

What he hears from Christ concerning you, he will share with you.  (“You” are the object of the verb); what is being told, or guided is “You”. Consequently, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, you can better know yourself. Thus, the easier it will be for you to avoid some very bad mistakes.

Thank you Jesus, for revealing me to me!

Reprover of Judgment

“He will reprove the world…of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.” John 16:8-11.

In Revelation 12:7-10, we read the account of satan’s fall from glory; of how he fought against Michael, the Commander of all the angels, who is none other than Jesus Christ, Himself – “…the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people…” Daniel 12:1

Jesus is also the deliverer of His people, when they find themselves in the midst of great persecution; “… and …thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” Daniel 12:1

When the enemy of souls fell from heaven, he was cast into the earth – Revelation 12:12 - where he in turn has caused much woe.  However, when Jesus rose from the tomb, judgment against satan was eternally passed. Christ victory meant satan’s ultimate defeat.

Consequently, those who choose Christ will be redeemed when He comes; but those who refuse Christ choose satan by default (there are only two choices to be made) – therefore, judgment passes upon all mankind.  It’s just a matter of which side you wish to be found.

I have learned that choosing Christ’s side, even in difficult times, is the best side! Won’t you choose Him today, as your own?
