Knowing That You Know

Have you ever been so sure of yourself that you were willing to bet, something of value, with another person, to prove that you were right? Whenever you go that far in your convictions, then it can be said of you that “You know that you know.”

I’m not encouraging anyone to gamble, because that is engaging in a game of chance. However, it is an incredible feeling of security “knowing that you know”, of a certainty about something of importance.

The next line of poetry encourages the reader to enter that state of knowing, with regard to their salvation.  It is possible, if they are willing to lay everything at the feet of Jesus and ask Him to take away their sin and vices.

Let’s look at the next line:

Line 22: Will you leave behind your life of sin, knowing that with Jesus, you are destined to win?

When a person does what is encouraged in line 22, he/she is assured of salvation. Here is what the Scriptures have to say about it.

He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” I John 5:10-13

Don’t you just love verse 13? That’s the verse that insures that you “know that you know!” Then verse 12 states that, “He that hath the son hath life.” Again, ample assurance that if you turn away from your sins, accept Jesus, the Messiah as your Saviour, you will have eternal life – salvation is yours! Whoo-hoo!

Then in the same chapter, in the next two verses, we read some of the most confidence building verses that you will ever want to read in the Bible. Check out the following, to see what I mean.

"And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him."

These verses assure us that if it is in the will of God, whatsoever we ask of Him, will be granted.  And the Scriptures assure me that God wills that all men be saved.  1 Timothy 2:3-5.  Therefore, if we will simply comply with the requirements of confessing and forsaking our sins, then asking Jesus Christ/ Yashua to be our Saviour, God will forgive and save us.

I have learned that some things in life don’t have to be complicated. If I just exhibit the faith required, I can receive the assurance and the blessings that are mine to have; so can you!

I’ll meet you in the clouds! Be sure to RSVP
