A Tribute to My President

Today, America says “Goodbye” to one of Classiest Presidents it has ever had. Goodbye, to the first and only African American President, to hold office, in the greatest, most influential and powerful country in the known world – the U.S.A. It is to him that I pledge my allegiance and dedicate this tribute of thanks.

My heart is saddened that this great president could not hold a third term. He fought diligently for ALL Americans and would have accomplished more, if the republican congress had not taken a vow to fight against everything that he proposed. It hurt them too much to think that a true African American, who wielded such power, would go down in history as a success. However, they still have been defeated.

Following is just a few of my favorite things that President Barak Obama accomplished, while in office; there are hundreds of things to acknowledge, whether you like him or not. Here is a website that you might visit, to learn more. http://pleasecutthecrap.com/obama-accomplishments/

Here is my short list:

Turned Around U.S. Auto Industry: In 2009, injected $62 billion in federal money (on top of $13.4 billion in loans from the Bush administration) into ailing GM and Chrysler in return for equity stakes and agreements for massive restructuring. (Our president elect had “NOTHING” to do with GM’s “four-year efficiency plan to bring jobs back to America! It was Obama’s administration).

2.      Eliminated Osama bin laden
3.      Ended the War in Iraq
4.      Passed Health Care Reform
5.      Reversed Bush Torture Policies
6.      Improved America’s Image Abroad
7.      Kicked Banks out of Federal Student Loan Program and Expanded Pell Grant Spending - The             Treasury will save $67 billion over ten years, $36 billion of which will go to expanding Pell                 Grants to lower-income students.
8.      Increased Support for Veterans
9.      Improved Food Safety System
10.  Pushed Federal Agencies to Be Green Leaders
11.  Passed Fair Sentencing Act
12.  Expanded Hate Crimes Protections
13.  Improved School Nutrition
14.  Crafting Next-Generation School Tests (still in progress)
15.  Expanded Health Coverage for Children
16.  Provided Payment to Wronged Minority Farmers (although they never received the promised 40         acres and a mule, they were granted the loans for which they applied)
17.  Froze White House salaries for the duration of the Great Recession
18.  Banned gifts from lobbyists to anyone in the Executive Branch
19.  Prevented a Bush Depression and Improved the Economy
20.  Lowered Tax rates for average working families; the lowest since 1950.

There are hundreds of more accomplishments that could be listed, but time and space does not provide for it.

I have learned that it doesn’t matter how accomplished an African American is; how many things he/she might accomplish; what social level he/she might achieve, there will always be those, not of their ethnicity, who will “play down” or downright “deny” what he/she has done, or instead, “give or take” all the credit to the “favored” in America. However, since God keeps accurate records, and because God has given us fabulous memories, we need to chronicle the truth as it truly is in our minds and share it with whomever we can. God will take care of the liars. Yay! Whoo-hoo!

We will miss you greatly, Mr. President. You represented America with class and dignity; and praise God, NO WHITE HOUSE SCANDALS!
